Backing up and restoring
Everything in Paycheq lives on your phone. A backup is one file with all your jobs, shifts, contract rules, cheque stubs and settings, so you can get them back if your phone is lost or replaced.
Automatic backup to iCloud Drive
- Open the Settings tab.
- Under iCloud Drive, turn on Back up to iCloud Drive.
Paycheq keeps a backup file in a Paycheq folder in your iCloud Drive, and updates it each time you leave the app. Last backup shows when it was last updated. The backup is in your own iCloud, and Paycheq never sees it.

Saving a backup yourself
- Open the Settings tab.
- Under Backup, tap Save a backup.
- Choose where to save it, such as Files or iCloud Drive, or send it somewhere off your phone.
Restoring
- On a new phone: sign in to the same Apple Account, open Paycheq, and the first setup screen offers to restore your iCloud Drive backup. Tap Restore it.
- From a backup file: go to Settings, then under Backup tap Restore from a backup and choose the file. During setup, tap Restore from a backup file instead.
Restoring replaces everything in Paycheq with what’s in the backup.
Good to know
- A Paycheq Pro purchase isn’t stored in the backup. On a new phone, open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases.
- Back up before you switch phones, just in case.
