A backup won't restore
If Paycheq won’t restore a backup, it’s usually the wrong file, an older app, or iCloud Drive not being ready.
“This file isn’t a Paycheq backup”
The file you chose isn’t a Paycheq backup. Choose the file Paycheq saved, named “Paycheq backup” with its date. A CSV or PDF export can’t be restored.
“This backup is from a newer version of Paycheq”
The backup was made by a newer Paycheq than the one on this phone. Update Paycheq from the App Store, then try again.
The new phone doesn’t offer my iCloud Drive backup
- Check you’re signed in to the same Apple Account as your old phone.
- On iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and check iCloud Drive is on.
- Give iCloud Drive a few minutes to download, especially on a new phone. Then close Paycheq fully and open it again.
- Check the backup is there: in the Files app, open iCloud Drive, then the Paycheq folder.
- You can also restore the file yourself: on the first setup screen, tap Restore from a backup file, or later go to Settings, then Restore from a backup, and choose it from the Paycheq folder.
“Paycheq couldn’t restore that backup”
Something went wrong while restoring. Try again, and if it keeps happening, try a different backup file, such as the one in your iCloud Drive’s Paycheq folder.
Good to know
- Restoring replaces everything in Paycheq with what’s in the backup. Paycheq asks first and tells you how many jobs and shifts the backup has.
- Turn on Back up to iCloud Drive in Settings so a recent backup is always ready.
- Pro isn’t in the backup. Tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen.
