Your widget and Live Activity
See your shift and today’s pay without opening Paycheq: on your Home Screen, on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Both are part of Paycheq Pro.
Adding the Today widget
- On your Home Screen, touch and hold an empty spot until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit at the top left, then Add Widget.
- Search for Paycheq and tap it.
- Choose a size and tap Add Widget, then tap Done.
The small widget shows what you’ve earned today, the hours you’ve worked and whether you’re on the clock. The medium one also shows the job you’re clocked in to and a running timer.
You can also add Paycheq to your Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose Lock Screen, tap the area below the time, and pick Paycheq.
Tap the widget at any time to open the Clock screen.

What the widget shows
- Earned today: your pay before deductions for today’s shifts, across all your jobs. It keeps rising while you’re clocked in, overtime included, even when Paycheq is closed.
- Worked: your hours today, less breaks.
- On the clock, on a break or Off the clock. On a break, the timer and earnings pause.
- If a night shift carries on past midnight, the widget says Workday and keeps counting that shift, instead of starting over at midnight.
Without Pro, the widget shows “Part of Paycheq Pro” in place of your figures.
The Live Activity
When you clock in, your shift appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. You don’t need to set anything up.
On the Lock Screen you’ll see:
- The job name, and the rate you’re on now, such as Regular time or Time and a half.
- A large timer that keeps running by itself.
- Your hourly rate right now.
- A pause button to start a break (tap play to end it), and a stop button to clock out.
In the Dynamic Island, the timer shows beside the camera. Touch and hold it to see the job, your rate and what you’ve earned so far.
When you clock out, the Lock Screen shows Clocked out and what you earned that shift for a little while, then it goes away.

If the Live Activity doesn’t appear
- Open the iPhone Settings app, tap Apps, then Paycheq, and turn on Live Activities.
- The Live Activity is part of Paycheq Pro. Without Pro, your shift still runs on the Clock screen.
- Open Paycheq once after updating it or restarting your phone, so it can show your shift again.
Good to know
- The timer is always exact. The earnings in the Dynamic Island are as of the time shown beside them, and catch up when Paycheq updates them.
- The widget and Live Activity read from your phone only. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Earnings are before tax. For take-home pay, see the Pay screen.
