Clocking in and out
Tap Clock in on the Clock screen, and Paycheq times your shift and shows what you’ve earned as you go.
Clocking in
- Open the Clock tab.
- If you have more than one job, tap the job name at the top of the card to choose one.
- Check the rate. The highlighted rate is the one you’ll be paid. To pay this shift at a different rate, tap it.
- Tap Clock in.
- Leave the wheel as it is to clock in now. If you forgot to clock in, turn it to an earlier time. If your shift hasn’t started yet, turn it to a later time, up to 12 hours ahead.
- Tap the button at the bottom. It shows the date and time you’re clocking in. To cancel, swipe down from the top of the sheet.
If you clocked in ahead of time, the card shows when your shift starts and counts down to it.
While you’re working
- The timer shows your time on the clock, not counting breaks.
- Hourly rate highlights the rate you’re earning right now. It moves by itself when overtime starts, on a Saturday or Sunday rate, or in your contract’s overtime window.
- Earned so far is your gross pay for this shift, including overtime.
- Shift options appear only if your contract uses them, such as Called in outside my schedule, On call or Bank the overtime. Turn on any that apply to this shift.

Taking a break
- Tap Start break, then Meal break or Rest break.
- When you’re back, tap End break.
Whether a break is paid follows your job’s rules.
Clocking out
- Tap Clock out.
- Leave the wheel as it is to clock out now, or turn it to the time you actually left.
- Tap the button at the bottom. It shows the date and time you’re clocking out. To cancel, swipe down from the top of the sheet.
The shift is saved to that day, and the Week and Pay screens update.
Fixing a mistake
While you’re on the clock, tap ⋯ at the top right:
- Edit start time if you clocked in at the wrong time.
- Discard this shift to throw the shift away. The time since you clocked in won’t be recorded.
- Add a shift to enter a different shift by hand.
To fix a shift after you’ve clocked out, open the Week tab, tap the day, then tap the shift.
Good to know
- Your shift keeps running if you close the app or restart your phone.
- You can only be clocked in to one job at a time.
- With Paycheq Pro, a Live Activity shows your timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
