I drive a concrete mixer. I built Paycheq for me and my coworkers.
Why Paycheq exists

An app that counted my hours wasn't enough.
I've driven a concrete mixer in BC for 18 years, on shifts the whole time, and I still do.
For years I used a pay app. It tracked my hours, but it couldn't pay them the way my contract does: double time on Sundays, midnight to 6 a.m. as overtime, meal premiums on long shifts, split shifts at two rates, and banked overtime. Its estimates were way out on the rates and on the tax.
So I figured I could build one for me and my coworkers. One that works out what we actually need, automatically.
Tested on my own cheque.
When I tested it with my real shifts and my real contract, the estimate matched my cheque to the cent, net pay included. Six of my coworkers use it now.
It's still an estimate, and the app says so. Payroll can round differently or cut off at a different time. But you'll know what your cheque should be, and how every shift was paid.
