Version 0.1.1

5 builds

  1. Build 5Nov 4, 2026
    LatestNov 4, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.1 (5)

    Fixes and improvements

Saved shifts and breaks now use whole minutes, so a shift from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. is exactly 10 hours. Your hours and pay match the times you see. The timer still counts seconds while you work.

The time shown when you clock out now matches what’s saved.

A shift saved earlier stays as it is unless you edit and save it. Then its start and end go to the whole minute.

Shifts that only overlap by leftover seconds no longer count as overlapping when you edit them.

The Help link now opens the help centre at paycheq.ca/help.

    Good to know

Estimates only. Not legal or tax advice. Your employer’s payroll may differ.

  2. Build 4Nov 1, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.1 (4)

Nov 1, 2026Export your shifts to Excel. Clock in and out with one wheel. Setup without a pay stub.

    New

    Export your shifts to Excel

Settings → Export → Shifts (Excel or CSV) now has Share Excel file: a clean spreadsheet with the Paycheq logo and totals. Share CSV is still there too.

It’s part of the free version, for the current pay period. With Paycheq Pro it covers any pay period, a month or the year to date.

Clock in and out with one wheel

Clock in and Clock out open straight to one wheel for the date and time. Leave it as it is to clock in or out now, or turn it to another time.

The button at the bottom shows the date and time you’ve chosen. Swipe down to cancel.

    Setup without a pay stub

Setup now asks if you have a recent pay cheque. If you don’t, answer No and add your pay schedule and amounts so far this year later in Jobs. Your estimates may be further off until then.

    Fixes and improvements

Rules files now open from Messages. Tap the file to see the agreement’s name and how many rules it has, then tap the share button and choose Paycheq.

The one-time vacation pay note from earlier builds is gone.

The Clock screen is quicker with a long history of shifts.

The Vacation pay card no longer lists your anniversary on a row of its own. The payout date under Left to use this year still shows when unused vacation pay is paid out.

The question to discard a shift now shows by the shift’s card.

More screens fit at the largest text sizes: job and agreement names wrap, pickers open a list of their own, overtime tiers use two lines, and the Pay table, the dates at the top of Week and Pay, and the Clock rate pills no longer cut off or break their numbers.

    Good to know

Your data moves to the new version by itself when you open the app. Backups from earlier versions restore as before.

Estimates only. Not legal or tax advice. Your employer’s payroll may differ.

  3. Build 3Oct 31, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.1 (3)

Oct 31, 2026Add vacation or a sick day from anywhere. Vacation pay split over your weeks.

    New

Add vacation or a sick day from anywhere

Tap + on Clock or Week and choose Add a shift, Add vacation or Add a sick day. Before, you could only add a day off from a day that already had a shift.

The day screen has its own Add vacation and Add a sick day buttons too. Each opens with the right kind already chosen.

Vacation pay split over your weeks

If your employer divides your vacation pay evenly over your weeks of vacation, turn on Split vacation pay over the weeks in your contract’s vacation pay (Pro). A tier’s weeks are its hours over 40, so 160 hours is 4 weeks, and a day pays a fifth of a week.

For this year, enter Weeks left under Vacation pay in Edit job: the weeks of vacation you haven’t taken yet.

    Fixes and improvements

Swipe to delete and Select on Clock and Week now work on days with only vacation or a sick day, so a booked-off week can be removed in one go.

When your vacation is split over the weeks, Add vacation no longer asks for hours and pay.

On a pay day with a vacation cheque, its net now shows in the Net estimate card in large lime figures, below your regular cheque.

The Net estimate card no longer shows Based on your past cheques. Your cheque stubs still compare to the estimate on the Your actual cheque card.

The Vacation pay card is simpler: it shows what’s left to use, and with your vacation split over the weeks, about how much each week pays.

    Good to know

Your data moves to the new version by itself when you open the app. Backups from earlier versions restore as before.

Estimates only. Not legal or tax advice. Your employer’s payroll may differ.

  4. Build 2Oct 31, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.1 (2)

Oct 31, 2026Vacation pay, the way your stub shows it. Days off. Labour rules. Jobs.

    New

Vacation pay, the way your stub shows it

Set your vacation year to your anniversary or the calendar year, and copy your vacation balances from a stub: Saving YTD (often VAC ACCR) and Left to use (often HOL ACCR). Jobs → your job → Vacation pay.

A new Vacation pay card on Pay shows what’s left to use this year, what you’re saving for next year and at what percent, and your anniversary.

Vacation days come on a cheque of their own on that period’s payday, with their own tax, CPP and EI. On your anniversary, whatever is left is paid out on its own cheque, and this year’s saving becomes next year’s.

Union contracts can set vacation pay by years of service: tiers of years, percent and hours, an optional “pay at least the hours” switch, and minimum hours (Pro).

Cheque stubs take your two vacation balances, so you can compare them with the estimate.

    Days off

Add a day off from the day screen: vacation, a paid sick day or other paid leave. Vacation can cover a range of dates.

Days off are paid but don’t count as hours worked or toward overtime. Pay shows them as Time off, and they’re in the spreadsheet and PDF exports.

In B.C. and Nova Scotia, paid days off count toward the 15 days you need before a stat holiday. B.C. holiday pay includes vacation and sick pay in its average.

    Labour rules

New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador: a switch for employers who pay overtime at 1.5 times your own rate, not the minimum wage.

Saskatchewan: New Year’s Day, Remembrance Day or Christmas on a Sunday moves to Monday if your workplace is closed Sundays.

Federal jobs: holidays on a weekend you don’t work move to the working day before or after. Set your regular work days on the job, and the holiday asks which day you got off.

Averaging agreements: set one up on the job where your province allows it. Overtime then says “Averaged over” the number of weeks.

    Jobs

Archived jobs can come back. Tap Archived jobs at the bottom of Jobs to unarchive or delete one.

Fixing a wrong default rate now offers to update the shifts already saved at the old rate.

    Fixes and improvements

Contract rules files shared by Messages or Files now open in Paycheq instead of showing raw text, even before setup is finished. The import screen has a Use button at the top.

You can’t archive a job while you’re clocked in to it.

The estimates notice now appears in setup and at the bottom of the shift editor.

New switches in Edit job stack their label at the largest text sizes.

    Good to know

Your data moves to the new version by itself when you open the app. Backups from earlier versions restore as before.

Estimates only. Not legal or tax advice. Your employer’s payroll may differ.

  5. Build 1Oct 29, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.1 (1)

Oct 29, 2026Share contract rules with coworkers. Shift options. Retro pay. More ways to match your contract. Easier editing.

    Share contract rules with coworkers

Set up your agreement once and send it to the people you work with. In Contract rules, tap the share menu, then Share rules. It sends a .paycheq file by Messages, Mail, AirDrop or Files.

The file holds only the rules. Your shifts, rates, cheques, dues and banked time stay on your phone.

Opening a .paycheq file opens Paycheq. You see a preview of the agreement, rules and holidays, then choose which job to use it for, or start a new job. Paycheq asks before replacing rules a job already has.

During setup, the union step offers Have a rules file from a coworker? Import it. With a file, setup skips the overtime and holiday questions.

On the free version, imported rules are saved, and the Pro screen offers the free trial.

    Shift options

A Shift options dropdown sits under Clock in, and under the rate pills while you’re on the clock. It covers Called in, On call and Bank the overtime for that shift.

Only the options your contract uses appear, and the row hides when it has none. Options start off for each shift and count toward the live estimate.

Each shift on a day’s screen has the same dropdown, and Paid updates as you change it.

    Retro pay

A raise dated back now has My cheques pay the new rate. Until you turn it on, shifts are paid at the old rate, as your cheques are, and the difference builds up as retro pay owed.

A Retro pay card on Pay shows what you’re owed and what’s been paid. Record the payout picks the cheque it came on.

Retro pay is estimated as a cheque of its own, with its own tax, CPP, EI and net. Your regular cheque’s estimate and stub comparison aren’t affected.

Raises you entered before this update keep their figures.

More ways to match your contract

Saturday or Sunday rates after 40 hours: a rule can start once the week passes a set number of hours.

Double time until a rest break: once a day reaches its top rate, that rate carries on, even past midnight or into a call back, until you get a break of the length you set.

Shifts paid as set hours: for example, a shift worked for at least 7 hours is paid as 8.

Banked time paid out once a year: what’s left in the bank pays out on a set date, then the bank starts again.

Holiday eligibility by days worked: for example, worked 5 of the 30 days before the holiday.

Holiday hours count toward the week: a paid holiday you didn’t work can count toward weekly overtime.

Quarterly union dues: one cheque a quarter, and you choose which.

Remove agreement at the bottom of Contract rules deletes a job’s agreement and keeps everything else.

Your existing contract rules calculate exactly as before. The new options are off until you turn them on.

    Easier editing

Swipe a day card left on Clock or Week to delete that day’s shifts. Paycheq asks first.

    Fixes

The Week screen now starts weeks on the day your pay periods start. Before, a contract’s work week could push Sunday shifts into the previous week. Pay totals didn’t change.

Double time carries over from a long day only once the day’s hours actually reach double time.

Pay estimates load much faster, especially on the Pay screen.

    Help centre

New articles: “More ways to match your contract” and “Share your contract rules”. The contract rules overview is updated.

Version 0.1.0

6 builds

  1. Build 13Oct 27, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.0 (13)

Oct 27, 2026New Pro plans and a free trial for everyone. Banked time. Clearer cheque comparison. Large text sizes. Polish.

New Pro plans and a free trial for everyone

Try every Pro feature free for 14 days. Tap Start your 14-day free trial in setup or on the Pro screen. Nothing to pay and nothing renews. The Pro screen shows how many days are left.

When the trial ends, Paycheq goes back to the free version and keeps all your data. The day before, a reminder shows the plans.

The free version: one job, your full history, your province’s labour rules, tax estimates, and export of the current pay period.

    Pro adds:

    • contract rules and unlimited jobs
    • export of any pay period, month or year
    • the Home Screen widget and Live Activity
    • comparing your cheque stub with the estimate

Cheque stubs you’ve already entered are kept, whichever version you’re on.

    Banked time

Claim time off over a range of days: pick the first and last day, the hours each day, and whether to skip weekends. Each day lands on the cheque for its pay period.

Days off from the bank show on Week and Clock as Banked time taken, with their hours and pay.

The list of claims opens on its own screen, and Claim banked time is easier to tap.

The banking choice now reads Every shift or Shifts I choose.

    Clearer cheque comparison

“Usual difference” is now Based on your past cheques. It says plainly how much more or less your cheques have usually come in.

    Large text sizes

Setup, Pay, Week, Clock, Edit job, Reminders and Settings all work at the largest text sizes. Tables and rows stack instead of squeezing, chips wrap onto more lines, and the big net figure grows with your text.

    Polish

Buttons use sentence case: Clock in, Clock out, Start break, End break.

Small wording fixes throughout, and a refreshed note from Carson.

  2. Build 12Oct 25, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.0 (12)

Oct 25, 2026Claim your banked time. Call-out minimum. Paycheq Pro. Setup. Help and feedback.

    Claim your banked time

New Claim banked time on the Banked time card. Take hours as time off (pick the day) or have them paid out (pick the cheque), as many or as few as you like.

Claimed hours are paid at your regular rate on that cheque, with tax, CPP and EI worked out on them. They show on the Earnings card as Banked time paid.

Your balance goes down for both. The Banked time card lists time off and pay outs separately, and you can tap them to see or delete a claim.

A day’s Paid table now shows the overtime banked that day.

    Call-out minimum

The call-out minimum now pays the hours short of the minimum at the shift’s rate. On a Saturday at 1.5× or a Sunday at 2×, the top-up is paid at that rate. A call-in during the midnight to 6 a.m. window is topped up at 1.5×.

Existing call-out rules at the regular rate are updated to the shift’s rate once.

    Paycheq Pro

The free trial is now 14 days.

On the last day of a trial, Paycheq shows when it ends, the price, and a link to manage or cancel your subscription.

    Setup

iCloud backup has its own step in setup.

    Help and feedback

Settings links to the new help centre at paycheq.ca/help, and has Send feedback and Rate Paycheq.

    Support is now support@paycheq.ca.

After a few days of use, Paycheq asks once for an App Store rating.

After your third time opening the app, a short thank-you note from Carson.

  3. Build 11Oct 23, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.0 (11)

Oct 23, 2026Banked time. Clock. Settings.

    Banked time

Bank at the rate earned: an hour at time and a half now banks 1.5 hours and an hour at double time banks 2. This is the new default. A single set rate is still available for contracts that use one.

Choose what gets banked: all overtime, only time and a half, or only double time. Whatever isn’t banked is paid on your cheque as usual.

New Banked time card on the Pay period, Month and Year views, whenever you have banked time. It shows:

    • hours banked from time and a half and from double time, with the total
    • time off taken
    • your balance, against your bank limit if you’ve set one

Record time off taken: log the days you take as banked time off, and your balance goes down. Tap the time taken to see or delete entries.

If your contract already has a Banked time rule, open it in Contract rules and check Banked at. Rules set up before this build keep their set rate until you switch them to The rate earned.

    Clock

The highlighted rate now changes within a few seconds of a new rate starting, such as overtime, double time, a weekend rate or the overtime window. Before, it could take up to a minute.

The highlighted rate is right from the moment you clock in.

    Settings

About has a link to paycheq.ca and a Share Paycheq with a friend button.

Fixed the About card’s missing rounded corners.

  4. Build 9Oct 21, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.0 (9)

Oct 21, 2026Easier setup. Paycheq Pro. Pay. Jobs. iPhone Duo.

    Easier setup

Setup now opens with how Paycheq keeps your data private: everything stays on your phone, and iCloud backup goes only to your own iCloud Drive.

A new slide gives a quick tour of what Paycheq does.

New Your last cheque step: enter the pay period dates and payday from a recent stub. Paycheq works out how often you’re paid and when, so you don’t have to set it up in Jobs. If you’re not sure, you can skip it.

    Paycheq Pro

Union contract rules and tracking more than one job are now part of Paycheq Pro. Monthly and yearly plans start with a 7-day free trial.

The free version includes one job with your province’s labour rules, live tracking, pay and net estimates, cheque comparisons, exports, backups and reminders.

Beta testers get Pro free. To see the free version or try buying Pro, turn on Try the free version in Settings. Beta purchases aren’t charged.

    Pay

The pay period view now shows CPP and EI this year: how much you’ve paid toward each yearly maximum, counting this cheque and the ones before it.

Pay figures load faster, especially the Year view later in the year and while you’re clocked in. The numbers are the same as before.

    Jobs

Add a job with the + at the top of the screen, like on Week and Clock.

    iPhone Duo

With the phone open, every screen uses both halves:

    • Clock: the clock on the left, your week on the right.
    • Week: the days on the left, the day you tap on the right.
    • Pay: earnings on one side, deductions and your cheque on the other.
    • Jobs and Settings: the list on the left, the chosen item on the right.
    • Setup: each question on the left, its answers on the right.
  5. Build 8Oct 19, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.0 (8)

Oct 19, 2026Contract holidays. Setup for every new job. Fixes.

    Contract holidays

Your contract rules can now have their own holiday list. You can add the days your agreement gives on top of the provincial ones, such as Easter Monday, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve, and turn off any provincial holidays your contract doesn’t follow.

You can also set your contract’s eligibility rules, such as days employed before a holiday counts or working your scheduled day after it. Paycheq asks about the day after on that day’s screen.

    Setup for every new job

Adding a job now walks you through the same setup steps as your first job: rate, union, overtime, dues, tax and more.

A new Holidays step lets you add any extra holidays from your contract.

    Fixes

The tab bar is back to the standard iOS style.

Every screen now scrolls all the way to the bottom. Before, the last card could sit hidden behind the tab bar.

A shift entered at a premium rate, such as double time, no longer gets overtime stacked on top. If part of that shift falls in an overtime window or passes an overtime limit, it’s paid at the higher of the two rates, never both multiplied. For example, a 2× shift running past midnight showed half an hour at 3×; it’s now paid at 2×.

  6. Build 7Oct 17, 2026

    Paycheq 0.1.0 (7)

Oct 17, 2026New look. See your pay by month or year. Clearer pay details. Night shift overtime. Exports. Backups.

    New look

Clock, Week and Pay have a cleaner design, with larger figures and a solid tab bar.

On Clock, your rates are three easy-to-tap buttons: Regular, 1.5× and 2×. If you clock in before your shift starts, a pill shows the start time and how long until it begins.

On Week, each day shows your net pay first, then hours and earnings. Holidays are marked with a star.

Save buttons are easier to spot.

See your pay by month or year

The Pay screen can show a single pay period, a month or the whole year. Use the menu at the top of the screen.

Month and year views add up every cheque paid in that time and list each cheque. Tap one to open it.

The year view shows how much CPP and EI you’ve paid against the yearly maximums.

    Clearer pay details

Pay leads with your net estimate. Earnings are in one table by hours and amount, and deductions show as negatives with a total.

Tap a day to see how it was paid, such as regular time, time and a half and double time.

    Night shift overtime

A new contract rule, Overtime window, handles contracts where night hours (such as midnight to 6 a.m.) are overtime from the start. Regular hours then begin after the window.

    Exports

Shift spreadsheets (CSV) and pay summaries (PDF) can cover a pay period, a month or the year to date.

    Backups

In Settings, save a backup of all your jobs, shifts, contracts and stubs to Files, and restore it later.

Turn on Back up to iCloud Drive to keep a backup up to date automatically. On a new phone, setup offers to restore it.

Know your cheque before payday.
